Where Art Meets the World

One evening in 2017, Serge Gauya entered his studio, eager to add a dog to his gallery of characters. He sketched a few lines, and soon, a silhouette emerged on the canvas. At first, it was just a simple outline, but then it became clear: this dog had to be blue. Before him, a deep and vibrant blue awaited. He picked up his brush and began to paint. Thus, the Blue Dog was born.

From its very first exhibitions, notably in Montreux, Switzerland, the artwork immediately found its audience. Its unique charisma fascinated, its gaze captivated, and its presence sparked instant enthusiasm. Very quickly, the Blue Dog established itself as an iconic figure in contemporary art.

Faced with this success, Serge Gauya decided to take it even further. The character he had envisioned stepped off the canvas to become a sculpture, exhibited at prestigious art fairs, including the Florence Biennale 2023. On the shores of Lake Geneva, monumental two-meter-high sculptures captivated passersby before making their way to exceptional locations around the world.

Today, the Blue Dog travels to the four corners of the globe. From Dubai to Europe, through South America and the United States, it continues to captivate collectors and art enthusiasts, asserting itself as a universal and timeless icon.

What started as a simple brushstroke has become much more than a work of art: a symbol, a signature. The Blue Dog is now a registered trademark, further solidifying its place in the art world and beyond.

And the adventure doesn’t stop there: a children's book inspired by the Blue Dog is currently in preparation in the United States, bringing this emblematic figure to a new audience and carrying its legacy forward for generations to come.
